- 2 cup cornflakes
- 1/3 cup roasted peanuts
- 1/3 cup cashews
- 3 tablespoon chana dal
- 3 tablespoon raisins
- 10 curry leaves
- 1/2 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered dry red chili
- 1/4 teaspoon powdered turmeric
- salt as required
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Place all the ingredients in individual bowls, and heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Take about 1/3 cup corn flakes and immerse in oil. Fry the cornflakes until they turn crisp and golden. Drain the excess oil from the cornflakes and place them over a tissue paper.
Add cashews, roasted peanuts, chana daal and raisins, and fry them individually in a similar manner until they turn crispy. Fry the curry leaves as well, and place all the fried ingredients on the tissue paper to soak excess oil. After this, mix all the ingredients together.
Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and sugar and mix properly. Once the cornflakes chivda comes down to room temperature, store it in an airtight container or jar. Serve with hot tea or coffee and enjoy!
